Kayisha's Story
Sparks Sunglasses was founded by female entrepreneur, Kayisha Thomas in May of 2019. At the time of the launch, she was based in Orlando, Florida USA; her second home; and the place where she originally came up with the idea to own a sunglasses brand. It was also the place where, in 2009, she coined the name "Sparks Sunglasses". She was 19 years old, and wrote it on the "My Life and Beyond" note on her BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone. Sunglasses were initially a fashion statement for her, but she soon had an urgent desire to share the importance of taking care of your eyes with the world. She promised herself she would one day make the dream a reality, and here we are.
Kayisha was born and raised in London, United Kingdom and as a child, she showed a tremendous amount of interest in fashion. She took great pride in how she dressed herself, and even as a teenager, she liked a clean aesthetic. At the age of 14, she became fascinated with sunglasses, so started her own personal collection. Sunglasses were her favourite accessory, and regardless of the season (Autumn, Summer, Winter, Spring and Winter again in the UK), she wore her sunglasses on top of her head. At the time, 14 year old Kayisha didn't know that she would eventually be known as a Sunglasses Connoisseur, and a champion for loving your eyes.
