2021 Is Here And It's Time To Prioritise Your Health
2021 is HERE and that means WINTER is here too. In the UK, Winter officially started on Monday December 21st 2020 and it already brought snow a few times in the past 2 weeks. Although one of our priorities should be to ensure that we are staying warm and safe, we also have to stay health and happy. So, below are some helpful tips.
*Hydrate your hands
During the winter, your skin can become damaged and cracked by the very low temperatures, and the dry cold. You should get into the habit of protecting your hard-working hands with moisturing hand cream. You could use cotton moisturing gloves as you sleep at night; just lather your hands with an excessive amount of cream and then put the gloves on. You should also wear winter gloves when you are out and about.
It's a good idea to use Vaseline/ Petroleum jelly that is enriched with vitamin E and/ or coconut oil. This will keep dry lips at bay and prevent your lips from being dangerously chapped. You could also use vegan and cruelty free Stoosh Beauty Lipgloss that is enriched with Castor oil, Soya bean oil, Vitamin E oil and Vanila. Whatever you use, it's important to hydrate your lips. Temperatures have already dropped as low as -3 degrees, we've had snow in the UK so don't be afraid to wrap up warm and put extra layers on; you can still be stylish.
*Maintain a healthy lifestyle
During this time of year, it's important that you maintain a healthy, balanced diet. That means you drink water, you have fruits and vegeatables in your daily diet, you exercise, you get a decent amount of sleep at night and you relax. The Winter months can be hard on your body, cold feet, frost bitten hands etc etc so make some time for you take care of yourself. Go for afternoon walks when it's not too cold and the sun is out, sit with a hot mug of herbal tea with your feet up after dinner, eat a fresh salad and get your vitamins and minerals in. Do what you know is best for you and your overall health. Oh and, encourage your friends and family to do the same.
*Wear your sunglasses
Everyone tends to think, "It's Winter, I don't need to wear sunglasses!" but they are in fact wrong. The sun sits lower in the sky during the winter, it's ideal that you wear sunglasses whilst you are driving to protect your eyes from bright head lights. Plus when its wet and snowy, its a great idea to wear your sunglasses to protect your eyes from the suns glare reflecting on the road. Start with these, and remember, your health is significant, it's valuable and should be treated as such. P.S. COVID-19 is still very much a global problem, the United Kingdom, United States, Spain, Japan to name a few are still struggling with the disease; so these tips to maintain a healthy lifestyle couldn't be more relevant.
